Hi, this is our news page where we aim to keep you up-to-date about goings on within the shop.
Saturday 18th December 2021
Hello, It's been very busy in the shop and the whole site generally and it's lovely to see so many people around at this important time of year for retailers. Everybody seems to be taking care wearing masks, keeping distance, etc., to help stop the spread of this new Covid variant. I hope you are enjoying this festive season, getting all those projects finished in time and finding the perfect gifts for everyone. We have been stocking up with lovely goodies as well! New lines include Baby Twinkle Prints and Top Value Super Chunky from James C. Brett, beautiful handmade needle-minders and stitch markers by Chapel View Crafts and are stocked full to the rafters with kits of all sorts. I'm busy…

Even though I enjoyed the high temperatures of the last two weeks, now it's a bit cooler I found myself thinking of Autumn and the Autumn window, also the new winter wool's coming in over the next few weeks. We've got a new range of chunky and a spotty double knit as well as new colours in Jewelspun, plus a lovely range of bamboo knitting needles and crochet hooks with coloured ends. Customers have also been asking when the Derwentwater Christmas cross-stitch cards will be in stock so we will be ordering when we see our rep Stuart in the next two weeks. As soon as it all gets here I will put it on the website. In…

Hi there, Well, it's a sweltering 28' today and the sun is blazing down on us...is it wrong to be mentioning Christmas? I'm just excited because we've had all our Christmas fabric delivered this week and I've had so much fun putting it all out and my brain's nearly blown up thinking of all the things I want to make. We have advent panels, a stocking panel as well as other beautifully patterned fabrics off the bolt. Opposite is just a little peek but you'll find the rest on our cotton fabric page!

Hi everyone, Thought I'd let you know about a new line we've added - Macrame!! I'm very excited about this as it's something I've got into during the second lockdown. We also have books on the subject. The new line has been in the shop for a few weeks now and is proving to be very popular and we've had good feedback on it.
Monday 26th April 2021
Well, it's been lovely to welcome all our customers back and to hear that they have missed visiting us. We have been exceptionally busy in our first few weeks and hopefully will remain so :-)
Thursday 15th April 2021
At last we are able to open! It's so lovely to be able to turn the sign, peg open the door and welcome back all our customers. We are open seven days a week, 10-5pm. We look forward to seeing you :)
Friday 26th March 2021
Hi there, Well, we spent a lovely Sunday afternoon dressing the shop windows. The sun was shining, people were milling about and it was feeling very much like Spring. It is important to me to have the windows looking nice now, even though we aren't opening up yet, as I feel that it shows our customers that we will soon be open again and to give them reassurance. We are doing work in the shop and lots of our shelves are empty due to changing stock, so, looking through the windows into the shop it does seem as though we are packing up! Not to panic though as behind the scenes we are busy ordering so that when we…
Wednesday 10th March 2021
Hi everyone, We are looking forward to re-opening from 12th April, fingers crossed, although we all know it depends on the R rate. While we've been in lockdown we have been busy keeping the website running and adding lots of stock for our customers. Also, in the shop, we have been adding to our yarn, fabric, kits and haberdashery sections and just generally been "padding out" our existing lines. All of these will be added to the website asap. One of the new lines is our new Macrame range, as it's very popular at the moment and all over the home decor pages on Instagram. After trying it out I'm absolutely hooked! Already made a small tapestry, with pot holders…
